I've been to plenty of diners growing up, but I was told it was a necessity to experience a true New York diner. After a complete comparison and assessment, I've concluded that New York diners have more grease, higher cholesterol, and better people watching. You go to a New York diner for the experience rather than for the food; it's an essential part of the community. My friend Arie said she would be surprised to not recognize anyone.
If the rain had stopped our plans might have been different, but it was a relaxing mornong of shopping and running errands. Later in the day I met up with Madi and Catriona, who also live on Long Island. With the hope of nicer weather, our plan is to head into the city tomorrow. Bring on the sunshine!
